Happy Pride Poodles!
I hope you are all able to celebrate this holiday with the friends and family who love and accept you just the way you are. And in the spirit of acceptance, I once again challenge you to reach out to our brothers and sisters who might be seen as different and extend your smiles, your waves, your hugs and your heart to let them know they’re beautiful just as they are. You never know how that one smile or hug could make an alienated person feel like they belong and are a part of something bigger.
I’m reminded of the saying “we are only as strong as our weakest link.” I truly believe it is incumbent upon us all to lose the judgment and lift each other up. We are all in this together! Pride is about celebrating the diversity of our community! I can’t wait to see all the beautiful colors that will be represented this year.
I’m excited to once again be performing in the Starlight Cabaret on Sunday night so I hope you’ll take the time to come and support all of the entertainers. Genre and Wild Cherry have worked hard to include as many entertainers as possible as well as up the production value. I know it will be a great show!
One last reminder: If you have not registered to vote, the deadline is fast approaching! Please take the time to register and make sure you exercise the right so many people have fought and died to protect. If you think your vote doesn’t matter, you’re wrong! This election will decide some key races and policy that will affect us as a community for years to come. Please, take the time to vote and make your voice heard!!
Love and lashes,
Mary Edith Pitts
